Welcome to edwardgoldsmith.org. This website has been created in order to publish the large number of articles, essays, reviews and other writings of Edward Goldsmith (known as 'Teddy Goldsmith' to friends and colleagues), founder of The Ecologist magazine in 1970, and author of numerous books including The Great U-Turn, The Stable Society, and his great philosophical discourse The Way: towards an ecological world view.

We recently added the entire text of A Blueprint for Survival, published as a special issue of The Ecologist in January 1972, shortly in advance of the Stockholm environment summit. This seminal work, in effect setting out the path towards a stable and sustainable society, rapidly sold out and was republished later that year in paperback by Penguin.

At time of writing (July 2007) the website contains over 250 pages, ranging from recent lectures and Ecologist articles to entire chapters from books (some recently published, others long out-of-print), book reviews, cover images, letters and interviews.

New pages are being added all the time, so if you cannot find what you are looking for now, do come back later and try again.
